This milled aluminum mold is for making CX tournament leads, used in the 2014 LongCasting World Championship, with which the Italian national team took first place in all weights: 100, 125, 150, and 175 grams. It features a slot for hooks made with 1.0-diameter wire, which can be purchased on the hooks page.
NOTE: This mold was created in collaboration with Matteo Rocco. We made the mold based on his availability of lead (as a raw material), with a slightly higher density and specific weight than the theoretical weight used to calculate all the other molds we produce. This means that if you make other lead shapes with our molds and the theoretical weights they almost always show, this mold may produce lighter ones!
For example, a 150-gram weight might weigh 146 grams, a 125-gram weight might weigh 122 grams...
The 125-gram weight on the original mold (made for Matteo Rocco and therefore the related leads made and used in the World Championships) measures 62.2 mm in length, 21.3 mm in maximum diameter, and has 80 longitudinal grooves, R=2 mm.

WE CANNOT MAKE A "LARGER" MOLD AS SOMEONE HAS REQUESTED (claiming the mold is incorrect) BECAUSE THE WEIGHTS DON'T FIT THEM LIKE THE OTHERS.
If we made it larger to adjust the weight, it would be larger and less aerodynamic, and it would lose meters in range compared to the original.
As all lead makers do, the casting alloy with which they are made must be adjusted: if they are lighter, pure or almost pure lead is added (such as bath tubes) or if they are heavier, tin is added to lighten the alloy.
